Sigma DP Quattro Cameras

Sigma DP Quattro Cameras

For those who still search for the perfect pocket-sized camera, Sigma just released a range of quite streamlined pocket cameras, which pack the electronics for a good shot. In each of the DP Quattro cameras, you’ll find a brand new Foveon X3 Quattro image sensor, which reserves three layers for each RGB color making it the world’s only direct image sensor, in other words vivid colors in a small frame. This CMOS sensor is just 23.5mm x 15.7mm in size, but is touted to capture aprox. 29 megapixels and a ISO ranges from 100 to 6400. The small 3-inch 920k-pixel LCD might not be the best choice, but regarding the size and the low weight of 14oz, it’s hard to apply a bigger LCD on the back. Might be the shooter heralding a new generation of high-quality pocket-cameras.
