Leica T 701 Mirrorless Simplicity

Leica T 701 Mirrorless Simplicity

Since decades, the name Leica is a brand you’ll find in every professional’s equipment, yet the new T 701 is their first foray into the mirrorless world. With the help of Audi’s design team, Leica finished an award-worthy design composed of an aluminum unibody with a clean, button-less backside. Just two thumb dials, a shutter key, a movie-recording key, and a 3.7-inch 854 x 480-pixel touchscreen suffice for the Leica shooter. The T 701 mirrorless features an optional external EVF, built-in WiFi for remote control and direct image transfer via Leica’s new iOS App, and a proprietary lens mount system,  which is a questionable decision. Spec-wise the new Leica comes with a Sony-made 16-megapixel APS-C sensor, 16GB of internal storage, SD port, and ISO range up to 12.800 and 1080p video recording at 30fps.
